What We Can Help With

Administrative support that keeps roles clear

01

Provider communication

Help communicate a patient’s inquiry to an appropriate medical institution based on the service requested.

02

Appointment requests

Coordinate appointment requests and scheduling information, subject to provider acceptance and availability.

03

Records preparation

Organize medical records and transmit relevant documents when the patient authorizes us to do so.

04

Translation coordination

Arrange or support translation and interpretation needed for administrative communication.

05

Practical planning

Provide non-clinical information about timing, documents, estimated provider costs, and practical travel considerations.

What We Cannot Do

We do not replace a qualified clinician

Diagnose

We do not diagnose diseases or medical conditions.

Interpret

We do not provide patients with independent interpretation of laboratory, imaging, pathology, or genetic results.

Prescribe

We do not prescribe medication or direct patients to begin, stop, or change a medical treatment.

Choose protocol

We do not determine dose, cell number, treatment frequency, treatment protocol, or other clinical parameters.

Predict outcome

We do not predict whether a treatment will work for a particular patient or guarantee any result.

Emergency response

We do not provide urgent or emergency medical assistance.

Treatment Eligibility

An inquiry is not acceptance

Preliminary contact

Receiving general information or discussing a possible service with Japan Medical does not mean a patient has been accepted for treatment.

Provider review

Where clinical assessment is required, eligibility is determined by the relevant physician or medical institution after reviewing the information it considers necessary.

Further evaluation

The provider may request additional records, testing, an in-person consultation, or may decide that the requested treatment should not proceed.

Independent Medical Providers

Clinical responsibility stays with the provider

Medical assessments Hospitals and clinicians are responsible for their own evaluation of each patient.
Treatment recommendations Treatment choices, alternatives, contraindications, and follow-up plans are determined by qualified healthcare professionals.
Informed consent The treating provider is responsible for explaining the proposed treatment, material risks, expected benefits, uncertainties, and alternatives.
Clinical procedures Hospitals and clinics are responsible for the procedures they perform, their staff, facilities, patient safety systems, and medical records.
Medical billing The provider determines its own medical charges, billing procedures, and changes caused by additional testing or care.

Costs and Estimates

An estimate can change

Provider charges

Treatment, examination, hospitalization, medication, laboratory, imaging, and other clinical charges are determined by the relevant provider unless expressly stated otherwise.

Additional care

The final amount may change after examination if further testing, medication, hospitalization, follow-up, or another service is required.

Coordination fees

Any separate fee charged by Japan Medical for coordination, translation, administrative support, or another non-medical service should be identified separately where applicable.

Your Existing Doctor Still Matters

Do not interrupt necessary care without advice

Patients considering treatment abroad should discuss important medical decisions with their existing doctor or another qualified healthcare professional who understands their medical history whenever appropriate.

Traveling abroad for treatment should not be used as a reason to delay or stop necessary conventional care without appropriate medical advice.

If you experience a medical emergency, contact the emergency services or an appropriate medical facility where you are currently located. Do not wait for a response through Japan Medical’s website, WhatsApp, or LINE.
